This week’s Gran Turismo 7 daily races will feature the Honda Beat at Maggiore, Gr.3s at Sardegna and Gr.2s at Kyoto Driving Park.

We’re returning to the special race this week Daily Gran Turismo 7 Races with a very different car in Race A compared to last week’s V8 monster…

Yes, Honda’s comparatively microscopic Honda Beat has its turn to be fun to drive in the first race. But fear not, there are also Gr.3 and Gr.2 cars to interest players with a need for speed.

The Honda Beat is an example of a Japanese “kei car,” a car manufactured under specific regulations for tax and insurance benefits. Essentially, this means that kei cars are small, light and unpowered.

We drive the Gr.3 cars to Sardegna’s snappy titled road circuit – C reverse layout for Race B. The fictional Italian circuit features epic mountain backdrops peppered with wind turbines. It also has several technical sections where barriers appear menacingly close to the edge of the track surface.

It is therefore not an ideal location for the wide and powerful Race B Gr.3 cars, which is why our featured car is one of the most successful and agile examples around.

We’ve raved about the Nissan GT-R Nismo GT500 before as it has been our favorite Gr.2 car on at least two other occasions (week commencing 15th August and week commencing May 2nd) and recently the subject of a round was Time Challenge at Interlagos.

As the most successful model in the history of the Japanese Super GT series, it’s no surprise that the car carried its success over to Gran Turismo 7, but it would be nice to see its Super GT competitors receive a BoP adjustment, to be able to compete.

Race C takes place in the Kyoto Driving Park’s Yamagiwa Reverse layout, which plays to the strengths of the high downforce Gr.2 cars. Long, sweeping corners are opportunities to pick up as much speed as possible.

But with triple tire wear, the race becomes a test to keep the soft rubber alive long enough to make it to the checkered flag.
