ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND, Sept. 30, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — Women Palante is proud to announce the launch of her second Wellness and Personal Finance Workshop on Saturday, October 8, 2022. In this workshop, Women Palante aims to bridge the gap between holistic wellness and personal financial literacy for Latina women.
This year’s focus is on two main themes: i) Mental and physical well-being, providing a foundation for personal self-care while balancing work life; and ii) Personal finance, educating on how to deal with bills, expenses, debt, financial emergencies and making long-term plans.
“The workshops will teach low-income Latina women how to balance their lives and be better with their money,” said Yurani Sandoval, CEO and Founder of Women Palante.
“Financial health permeates every aspect of our lives, even as these Latina women are just beginning their immigrant lives, learning how to manage expenses while making long-term plans are key aspects of success. At the same time, these women can learn about nutrition, healthy habits, emotional intelligence, and even take yoga classes,” Sandoval added.
Who can apply? Any Spanish speaking woman who would like to find a supportive, bilingual community of women who will help each other succeed is welcome to apply. “The courses are held at introductory level, so there are no prerequisites. Just bring yourself and the will to learn and improve your life,” Sandoval said.
The workshops take place over eight Saturday afternoons from October through December in Montgomery County, Maryland. Each participant pays a nominal fee of $105.00. The Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) is awarding 10 grants to at-risk Latina women in Montgomery County. Major sponsors for the welfare and financial portions of the program are Forbright Bank, Maspanadas and Aetna.
Further information and registration for the workshops can be found under this link.
“This is our second edition of this workshop. Last year we had over 150 women in our online version, this year the workshops will be in person and in Spanish. We will have qualified experts, a great group of doctors, a self-esteem coach, psychology, finance and yoga teachers who will empower and build capacity for at-risk Latina women. We can’t wait for the workshops to start,” concluded Sandoval.
With this workshop, Women Palante, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, continues to support and educate moms to help strengthen their business, finances, health and well-being while skiing, and strategies for working life to develop balance.
