Bhubaneswar: The 13th edition of UNWIND, one of the flagship events of SAI International, was organized on December 11 with the theme ‘Fantasy: Embrace the Unknown’.
One of the largest school-based, student-run mega cultural festivities in the country, UNWIND 2022 was attended by more than 30,000 people.
The day-long event was conducted by students of Class XI Commerce and Humanities stream with the support of mentors.
UNWIND, which is the brainchild of founder-chairman Dr. Bijayi Kumar Sahoo, is held every year with the motto to learn, lead and serve and provides a grand forum for inculcating 21st century entrepreneurial, leadership and learning skills to students beyond the book learning horizon. and imbibe experiential learning and provide students with hands-on experience.
UNWIND 2022 Chief Guest Dr Omkar Rai, Executive Chairman, Startup Odisha declared the event open.
“I am happy to be here at UNWIND 2022 as this platform offers children an entrepreneurial perspective and inculcates leadership skills from a really young age as envisioned by my friend, mentor and guide late Dr. Bijaya Kumar Sahoo. His words were embodied in the efforts of our budding entrepreneurs who worked tirelessly to make this event a huge success,” said Dr. Rai.
The presence of children and inmates of Pratibha Ashram, an orphanage, added to the merriment of the event.
There was a booth dedicated to the 100 Library Project, which is the brainchild of Dr. Sahoo.
“It gives me immense joy to see that my SAIoneers of Commerce and Humanities have organized such a mega and immersive festival for UNWIND 2022. The vision of Founder-Chairman Dr. Bijayi Kumar Sahoo was to build critical thinkers, problem solvers with sharp and focused thoughts, future entrepreneurial citizens of India. He dreamed of creating global leaders who are critical thinking innovators with thriving careers and ready to reshape the world for the better. I am excited to see my SAIoneers walking the path set by our Founder-Chairman,” said Dr. Silpi Sahoo, Chairperson, SAI International Education Group.
The day was punctuated with enthralling activities including delicacies, games, adventure sports, electronic games, virtual reality escapades, competitions and a host of high-voltage cultural performances by the students.
More than 100 food stalls with a wide range of delicious national and international cuisines and more than 60 game stalls with fun-filled activities.
Women Self Help Groups (WSHGs) under the auspices of Odisha Government’s ‘Shakti Mission’ set up a stall to showcase financial independence and women empowerment.
The Holistic Parenting Awards were given to the achievers of 2021-2022 for their outstanding performance, tireless efforts, perseverance and dedication in the CBSE Class XII Board Examinations.
The highlight of the festival was the evening concert with spectacular fireworks.
Renowned musician and Bollywood singer Rituraj Mohanty was the big hit of the event.
