This Week at Bungie – 9/22/2022 > News

Our player support team is amazing as we say every week. They are the cream of the crop when it comes to getting into the trenches and making magic happen. For this week, we’re looking at today’s hotfix, which fixes things like the 120Hz decision to go AWOL and PlayStation 4 launch issues. The team is back once more to break it all down for you. Here is her report.

HOTFIX 6.2.0.6

Hotfix 6.2.0.6 was released worldwide today. Below is a list of some of the issues addressed by this hotfix:

  • PlayStation 4s may crash at the title screen after pre-ordering Lightfall.
  • The 120Hz refresh rate option is missing on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
  • Seismic Strike moves the camera to first-person view instead of third-person view.

CRUCIBLE QUITTER POP UP

We’re currently investigating an issue where players are incorrectly receiving a premature exit popup when starting another activity directly from the post-game Crucible screen. Players will not be penalized in this case. Pop-ups can be mitigated by returning to orbit before starting a new activity.

KNOWN PROBLEMS

As we continue to investigate various known issues, here is a list of the latest issues reported to us on our #Help forum:
  • The Wish-Ender Exotic Bow’s Wrath of the Queen perk works inconsistently on certain PvP maps.
  • The Nine Lives Ghost Shell is missing flavor text.
  • Duplicate Shader Rewards can drop from Bright Engrams.
  • Public event dialog audio on Nessus is not triggered correctly when joining an event.
  • The turrets in the Ketchcrash activity are overly bright.
  • Players can be killed activating the bells in duality.

Bruno: Ivan is enjoying a well-deserved break, so this time I’m in charge of the films. Apparently that means lots of animation. I never cease to be amazed at the incredible talent among our community artists and that we can have both an intense anime ending and a fun tribute to the Hive pantheon in the same week.

hippie: We have pirates. We have art. We have… Sprite? Right, well, that’s… uh, that’s one thing. It was great to see the Wardens getting excited about the season of looting and taking over pirate groups while doing Eido proud. It was a welcome treat to shrug those shoulders after the mentally vigorous season of The Haunted, and it was hilarious to watch you all lean into the silliness. As with sprote. Wow, nice transition, hippy.

However.

Sam: It’s been a few weeks since I last shared a Warlock (I know, come on Sam, you call yourself a Warlock Captain…), but this week we have something so hauntingly beautiful that we think that everything can be forgiven.

art of the week: Even death can die.

hippie: I’m bumping in again with a bonus artwork because I think we all deserve a reminder that rest is important and chilling is good for your sanity. Treat yourself.

And that’s a wrap! Just one more TWAB before we get spooky in October! We’ve already given the dates for this year’s Festival of the Lost in a previous TWAB, but we have a few more things to share before we unwrap the festive masks again. Because let’s face it, those masks – they’re a gift from the gods. Or our design team, you know… either/or.

A minute’s silence for him:
