Yes, the clock finally struck midnight on October 21st and so, Taylor Swift’s 10th studio album — Midnights — landed on streaming platforms everywhere. And specifically for fans of Apple Music, it mixes in Dolby Atmos with the ability to play in Spatial Audio.
What does this mean? Well, when you listen on a pair of AirPods Pro or AirPods Max, you get head-tracking spatial audio that intelligently reads instructions from Dolby to position the music around you. In return, you get an immersive mix that, combined with iOS 16, will truly become personalized to your ears.
You can play Midnights or the Midnights Special (3am Edition) right now on Apple Music. And if you’re looking for a new set of headphones, the second-gen AirPods Pro are on sale right now.

You can stream the standard album or the entire special album on Apple Music. New subscribers can get a one month free trial or choose to register for $9.99 per month.
Taylor Swift describes Midnights as “a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams” on her social accounts. The main album consists of 13 songs, a significant number, and the 3am edition takes it to a total of 20 tracks.
Eager to unlock a head-tracking spatial audio listening experience? AirPods Pro are the most affordable way to get in, and they also let you double the immersion with noise cancellation turned on. Right now, AirPods Pro are $10 off at Amazon at $239.99.
Essentially, by using accelerometers built into the headphones and the connected device like an iPhone, they work to dynamically play audio around you. Think of it as her iPhone representing the center stage mic that Swift is signing into and the instruments flowing in from the left or right.
They will quickly pair with your iPhone; just open the case and then they will be synced to your iCloud account. In this way, you can experience a seamless connection on any of your Apple devices.
AirPods Pro also feature the best and class-leading active noise cancellation we’ve tested, and a very clever transparency mode. You can also expect more than six hours of battery life in a single listen.
And if it’s an over-ear experience you’re after, you can opt for the AirPods Max, which are just $449 on Amazon.
Taylor Swift x Apple Fitness+
Now, in addition to streaming Midnights, a new “featured artist series” will launch on Apple’s Fitness+ streaming service starting October 24. And you guessed it, Taylor Swift is the artist in question. Cycling, dance, HIIT, Pilates, rowing, strength, yoga, core and treadmill workouts will feature songs by Taylor Swift, including tracks from “Midnights.”
In a HIIT workout with trainer Anja Garcia, you’ll work with intervals that last 13 seconds. Similarly, in a treadmill workout with trainer Scott Carvin, the first letter of each tip will come together to spell “SWIFTIE.”
You can also expect more Taylor Swift-themed classes to roll out for three weeks. With iOS 16.1, you can use Fitness+ on your iPhone and get just one Move ring, and on Apple Watch you get the full experience. See our full review of the Apple Watch SE and Series 8 here. Target Circle members can also get four months of Apple Fitness+ for free.
