PokerStars VR, part of Flutter Entertainment, has announced that it will be a launch title for Meta’s groundbreaking Quest Pro mixed reality headset, set for release on October 25th.

PokerStars VR will be one of a select number of game titles chosen to launch alongside Meta’s flagship device, giving players improved performance and full-color passthrough for a full mixed reality experience, facial and provides eye tracking and other cutting-edge technologies.

PokerStars VR developers Lucky VR have been busy behind the scenes dreaming up new ways to take full advantage of these next-gen capabilities and integrate them into the free-to-play social casino video game.

Players using Quest Pro can customize their environment to suit their gaming habits. Options include a fully immersive virtual reality experience, partial immersion that brings objects or spaces into the game from their physical world through editable “pass-through windows,” and full mixed reality that allows players to explore core virtual gameplay elements into their own world.

Sophisticated face and eye tracking also brings a brand new social dimension to PokerStars VR. The trademark upgrade allows players to create and see realistic facial expressions in their custom avatars. Players can sit down and smile, frown and take a look at their cards, just like in a live environment.

Advanced haptics, meanwhile, will contribute to richer, more engaging gameplay where players will get the full experience of hundreds of toys, props, and items available.
