Peter G. Mangone, MD, Named Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Foundation President | News


ROSEMONT, Ill., Sept. 22, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Foot and ankle orthopedist Peter G. Mangone, MD, has been appointed President of the Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the American Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS)®, which advances the Society’s mission by funding and promoting education, research, and humanitarian efforts.

As President of the Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Foundation, Dr. Mangone will oversee the new Text to Give program, which will make it easier for AOFAS members to make one-time and recurring donations to the Foundation. dr Mangone will prioritize working closely with industry partners as well as building new relationships with non-traditional partners as the healthcare landscape continues to evolve.

“I hope to increase the overall percentage of donations made by AOFAS members to the Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Foundation,” said Dr. mangoes. “No amount is too small. The fact is, every donation helps the foundation fulfill its mission of funding education, research, and humanitarian efforts.”

dr Mangone received his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine and completed his orthopedic residency at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals, now known as Emory Healthcare, in Georgia. He completed his Foot and Ankle Fellowship at the Center for Orthopedic Care in Cincinnati, Ohio. Currently dr. Mangone Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon at EmergeOrtho, Blue Ridge Division, in Asheville, North Carolina.

Previously Dr. Mangone has served on the board of directors of the Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Foundation as President-elect and a member-at-large. In addition, he played an active role in AOFAS as a member of the Health Policy Committee and Chair of the Practice Management Committee.
