“MMA Is One Cold Mfer” – Using Conor McGregor’s Principle, Chris Curtis Gives Joaquin Buckley a “Taste of His Own Medicine” at UFC 282

The last numbered event of 2022, UFC 282: Blachowicz vs. Ankalaev, took place on December 10 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Notably, featuring a title fight, Saturday night’s event offers fighters a path to glory and a rise in the rankings. However, the opening middleweight fight on the prelim card involving Chris Curtis and Joaquin Buckley caught the attention of fans, ending in a vicious KO.

Notably, both fighters engaged in a back-and-forth battle with the #15 ranked fighter winning via KO in Round 2.

What happened in the fight at UFC 282?

Both fighters were wary of each other and Curtis started with a jab and leg combo and as usual relied on his counter attack skills. But the opponent, a wild fighter, applied pressure early with leg kicks and punch combos. But ‘Action-Man’
Catches the opponent lacking and lands a clean, powerful left punch in the first round. However, the 28-year-old fighter suffered minor injuries in the same round.

After a short break, the 15-5 record holder mixed up his approach. But Curtis remained unfazed and countered Buckley’s punches completely bluntly. Therefore, the first round was a perfect example of the 35-year-old fighter’s remarkable skills, solid defense and dangerous counter-attack skills.

The 29-9 record holder picked up the pace in the second round, but the ‘new Mansa’ put more pressure on the pedal. Therefore, Buckley threw high volume punches and was superior in output. Notably, Feeney’s HIT Squad team representative annoyed Curtis with his combo punches.

But in the end Curtis’ counterattacking skills nullified the massive approach as he caught Buckley’s left kick and threw a left hammer punch, which sealed the fight for him.

Notably, before the post-interview, fans heard the UFC veteran shout, “They said I was old. They say I’m old.”
