Jaguar Land Rover invites suppliers to align to 2030 sustainability commitments

Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Jaguar Land Rover is inviting its global supply network to commit to sustainability targets approved by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and help achieve net zero carbon -Emissions across Jaguar Land Rover supply chain and products to be achieved and operational by 2039.

Reaching net zero throughout the value chain will benefit people, customers and the planet. Jaguar Land Rover’s commitments can only be achieved by working closely with suppliers who share the same vision for change. As a result, Jaguar Land Rover has challenged its Tier 1 global supplier network – products, services and logistics – to align with its 2030 targets while maintaining the same quality.

Jaguar Land Rover will require Tier 1 suppliers to define their decarbonisation journey, report transparently and demonstrate progress towards their targets. This would involve disclosing their carbon reporting and working with their own supply chain to achieve the same reductions. This requirement was shared with Jaguar Land Rover’s supply network, which includes more than 5,000 companies around the world.

As part of its Reimagine strategy, Jaguar Land Rover is undergoing a profound transformation to deliver sustainable modern luxury vehicles by decarbonizing its entire value chain, applying circular economy principles and moving to fully electric product ranges by the end of the decade.

Jaguar Land Rover has committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions from its operations by 46 percent by 2030. In addition, the company will reduce average vehicle emissions across its value chains by 54 percent, including a 60 percent reduction throughout the use phase of its vehicles. The targets, approved by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), confirm the company’s path to a 1.5°C emissions reduction in line with the Paris Agreement. Jaguar Land Rover’s commitment meets Paris’ most ambitious goal.
