Conservatives blast Biden for claiming Republicans ‘will crash the economy’ if they win midterms

Conservatives criticized President Biden on Friday for warning that Republicans will “destroy the economy” next year if the GOP gains control of Congress in the upcoming midterm elections.

Several prominent conservative Twitter users accused the president and Democrats of already doing this to the country’s economy and claimed they were trying to shift the blame.

Biden made his claims while commenting on the latest Treasury Department report showing that the national deficit had shrunk by $1.4 trillion in the past year.

Biden hailed the milestone as a sign of his administration’s economic success and warned that if Republicans get their way, they will roll it back.

With several of his economic advisers backing him, President Biden pronounced: “The Republican leadership in Congress has made it clear: they are going to crash the economy next year, threatening the full faith and credit of the United States for the first time in our history, putting the United States into default unless we give in to their demands to cut Social Security and Medicaid.”

Conservatives, however, were not buying such claims.

Senator John Cornyn, R-Texas, reacted, saying that Biden and his fellow Democrats have already wrecked the economy. “He and other Ds have already achieved this,” the senator tweeted.
