Chulalongkorn Business School Dean Professor Dr. Dr. Willert Puriwat and Dean of Medicine Siriraj Hospital of Mahidol University. Epichat Asavamankalkul Chulalongkorn Business School and Sriraj Faculty of Medicine signed an agreement for an academic collaboration at the hospital, Mahidol University, to promote excellence in academic and management..

According to Assoc. Chulalongkorn Business School Dean Prof. Willert Puriwatt, the combination of business knowledge and medical and public health knowledge has become exceptionally significant in today’s society. A collaboration between CBS and Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, an interdisciplinary integration between the two institutions that will empower students with knowledge and experience, with the aim of creating future leaders. What will be achieved in the first phase includes business and marketing projects to develop knowledge from the two schools, return knowledge to the public and society, and seminars on public health management organized for both institutions as well as the wider community.

Prof. Dr. Epichat Asavamankalkul, Dean of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, explained that one goal is to apply the potential of the two schools to hospital management by integrating both sciences. This will encourage faculty members to generate new knowledge and conduct research on patient care, thereby adding value to students and Thai society. He further said that this collaboration will result in more projects in the future.

Professor Prapat Wanitpongpan, Deputy Dean of Corporate Communication and International Relations, said that the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital is the first medical institution in Thailand. There is no second in terms of medical insight and numerous medical experts, ready to produce quality doctors for the society. But at the same time, the input of CBS to assist in administration and management is very valuable. This collaboration is a good opportunity to develop faculty activities to achieve medical standards and sustainable management.

This collaboration is an important step in the effort to revolutionize tertiary education in Thailand.
