(Seguin) – Downtown Seguin is the place to be this holiday season. Whether it’s shopping or participating in one of the number of holiday activities scheduled for December, folks with the City of Siegen Business Association are making sure families get an invitation to visit the heart of the city this holiday season.
That’s according to Dana Hall of the Seguin City Chamber of Commerce. Hall says the invitation to stop by the town of Seguin is especially important this year with all the new families that have moved to the area.
“We’ve been talking about all these new people that have been coming to Seguin for years and it’s been a challenge because we don’t know how to reach them. So a lot of the new people that are coming to town are getting out of town and exploring. Every day, they come and go, ‘Oh, my God, this is a beautiful place. The park is beautiful. I didn’t know it was here. I’ve been living here for six months. It’s like, ‘Oh, well, welcome to your new home.’ Welcome’. That’s what we call it, and we’re the way we like it,” Hall said.
Hall says what better way to welcome new families to the community than to have them participate in all the designated holiday events. He says attending these events is always a great way to get a feel for what the Seguin community is all about.
We encourage them to come down and enjoy our holiday festivities for sure. That’s one of the best parts about the city of Seguin, the Sip ‘n’ Stroll, the North Stroll Pole and Parade and we just appreciate their support and come and find something that can only be found in Seguin,” Hall said.
Hall’s comments came earlier this year at the launch of the store’s annual local, Shop Sign holiday campaign. The campaign is hosted by chambers of commerce and trade groups to encourage consumers to buy Seguin before spending those dollars elsewhere.
Hall says the campaign not only encourages people to shop local but also small businesses and, of course, the downtown Seguin store.
“So, for everyone in the city, it’s important that we remind people that we’re here and that we support this community and our sales tax and non-profit donations and that’s from our heart. We We’re doing it because we love Seguin and we love downtown,” Hall said.
Those new to the area and who would like to support downtown Seguin businesses are asked to follow the Seguin DBA on social media.
